Rituals Foscarini

In different yet complementary shapes, volumes of blown Murano glass, cut by a series of horizontal lines of varying thickness that are arranged in an intentionally casual manner, filter and modulate the intensity of light with a special chiaroscuro effect.

The poetry and the lightness of Rituals treading between the East and West, its rarefaction and materiality draw their inspiration from traditional Japanese lanterns, bringing a suffused and precious light to a variety of settings.

The refined lighting effect emphasised by the delicately rounded shape and by the signs of glass grinding following a special process, recalls an ancient artisanal creations.

In the table versions, the volume of Rituals appears almost as if it were floating in mid-air, suspended on metal feet that underscore the light weight of the shapes. In the suspension version, the use of a multiple ceiling flange allows the creation of a composition of between three and nine lamps in order to create a cloud of light.
